In-Home and Community Support
In-Home and Community Support Services is a service under Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) that provides direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism in their homes and community settings to help them live as independently as possible.
Services:
- Assistance with daily living skills - (cooking, cleaning, laundry)
- Personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Medication reminders and administration (if applicable)
- Health and safety monitoring
- Support with budgeting and money management
- Transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities
- Support with communication and social skills
- Meal planning and preparation
- Household organization and safety checks
- Encouragement of independence and decision-making.
Community Participation Support
Community Participation Supports (CPS) is a service under Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) designed to help individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism engage in their communities in meaningful and inclusive ways.
Services:
- Community outings and recreational activities
- Volunteering and civic engagement opportunities
- Job exploration and work skill development
- Social interaction and relationship-building activities
- Education and skill-building classes
Accessing community resources and services
- Participation in cultural, sporting, and entertainment events
- Promoting self-advocacy and confidence in community settings.
